Today
My sweet Travis downloaded tons of pictures on my computer yesterday. Like 1 gig of pictures...so many I had to put them on a portable drive. Took forever. But gosh, was it worth it. I have smiled so many times looking at each folder of the past year. Saying , "ah" and "oh" and "oh gosh, I remember that day". Pictures I have never seen....jogging my memory of precious days gone by. The little one's have grown so much in the past year. Corbin is about to be 5! It was yesterday we held him in our arms for the first time and whispered, "you can have anything you want at any time." And it's true. Corbin is our prince and he rules our house. He is so smart he amazes me. First he wants to be an astronaut, and when he's done with that, he says "I'll drive the train at Zilker Park." Corbin is so awesome. And then Ruby...a little 2 1/2 year old that has won our hearts day by day. Papa was hooked the first time he saw her. I had to work hard to win her over (only because Carrie and Travis and Papa were her world.) I never gave up and now she is my little friend, my precious granddaughter who delights us with her smile, her personality, her athleticism and her beauty. I am reminded as I look at these pictures of the past of something Ken says all the time.... "Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans." I have such a wise husband.

just getting started...again
It's been several weeks since I posted the first entry on my page. I have spent countless hours pouring over numerous blogs...losing myself in the lives of other bloggers that I don't even know. Some have brought me to tears and to my knees to pray. Others, just plain funny. Remember, this is all new to me. My generation didn't journal in school...we wrote reports. And our teachers hung our collection of reports from a big clip in the front of the room. We made a colored cover page (using a set of 64 crayons if we were lucky...48 were the next best.) Journaling was done at home in a thing called a diary, and I had a key to open mine (Ken says I'm really dating myself). But now it's a blog... for everyone and their brother to see. This is such a step out for me, since I come from a family of English and Journalism majors, AND to top it off, my best friends are teachers. Nevertheless, count me in. I'm hooked.

I can do this....
My niece Kristin, and friends Lynn and Anne have convinced me to step into the cyberspace world, and I have to say it hasn't been an easy task. I worked forever organizing pictures and posting them on my Facebook page. You see, Kristin had a great idea to start a family blog (I guess that's the word) and I didn't want to let her down.... or the few others that have stepped up to the challenge. Not that it was really a challenge for them...seems, just for me.
So here is my first attempt to create a beautiful page so I can share our life here in Spicewood with family and friends. There will be lots of pictures of Corbin and Ruby taken with my new digital camera that I'm learning to use by trial and error. Another attempt to keep up with the technology trend.
So here's hoping I can do this...I know I can!
